A Timely Quote: Iain Murray

The following is a quote that was read by Iain Murray in a tape-recorded sermon entitled, "The Problems of Contemporary Evangelism." I thought it to be a great reminder:

The great want of today is a holier ministry. We do not need more stalwart polemics, more mighty apologists, or preachers who compass a wide range of natural knowledge, important though these be. But we need men of God who bring the atmosphere of heaven with them to the pulpit and speak the borders of another world.

amen and amen and to this I point as I too do:::>

Act 4:33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

Php 4:9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me--practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

What Life, what Joy, what Peace in believing!

Rom 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

To one these are Life unto Life.

To the other, these are death unto death!

Job 12:13 "With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.
Job 12:14 If he tears down, none can rebuild; if he shuts a man in, none can open.
Job 12:15 If he withholds the waters, they dry up; if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land.
Job 12:16 With him are strength and sound wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are his.

Luk 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
Luk 10:2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
Luk 10:3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.

and so with me I pray:

"Lord, send them, send them out, overwhelm the land!"
