It fit perfectly in the song. He didn't bring it up as if it was something unusual or out of place, and I don't think it is.

Also, the song isn't about vulgarity, the song is about hating homosexuals, and how people give all there attention and time to addressing homosexuals, meanwhile, not giving a shit about starvation, and social injustices around the world.

The point isn't the cuss word at all.ricshewellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13114025538014232323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27391906.post-43651906592858993362009-10-27T09:07:49.015-07:002009-10-27T09:07:49.015-07:00Thanks to everyone who commented, and I would als...Thanks to everyone who commented, and I would also say that if you want to read more of my actual insight to language read here:

Language

I agree more than you might think in regards to Webb, but am worried about implications of using words, for the sake of words...when speaking in a public forum.

And this doesn't mean that I didn't get or understand his message. I don't think that he's just inserting these words to seem younger or more relevant, but I think that there's a reason that he decided to use those words. I know a lot of people who would call themselves Christ-followers, yet aren't open at all to relating to gay people, and don't even give them a chance to show that they are real people. Obviously Derek is upset about this, and I also think that 'damn' in this context has a double-meaning.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16717334989083543250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27391906.post-24835177695267199072009-10-22T21:46:26.569-07:002009-10-22T21:46:26.569-07:00It blows my mind that people get bent out of shape...It blows my mind that people get bent out of shape over a word like "shit". Are we still ten years old? Debating about Webb's usage of the word from an artistic standpoint is one thing, but the fact that it is so controversial is ridiculous.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11390941932145892778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27391906.post-54710535905372508052009-10-21T14:11:03.435-07:002009-10-21T14:11:03.435-07:00Kristellys.
